m42 head bolts
« on: July 05, 2011, 05:30:43 PM »
right, i have a m42 which i have jsut rebuilt, i have put new head bolts in, and i have just noticed today that i havnt put the washers under the bolts.

I havnt started the motor yet, but they are all torqued up as in the haynes says.

Wil it matter? I dont think they are bottoming out.

If i need to put the washers do i now need new bolts again?

thanks!

The bolts stretch to torque.  I hate to say it; but I'd replace them.
