well im deciding to change my headlights to projectors. but i dont know which ones look better smileys or angel eyes. whats your guys opinion?

I'm sold on the smileys too, or a nice set of US DOT ellipsoids. I'm not feeling the angel eyes on BMWs, but I'm a fuddy duddy.

smileys or us ellips angel eyes on e30s looks hidious and just dont go with the car they look really good on my e39 though

it depends. I've seen some angel eyes that look undoubtedly hideous on E30s, but some sets are just nice. On the other hand, you can't go wrong with smileys, nobody doesn't like them. I'm not a big fan of them, though. Their price tag reads "overrated" to me.

it depends. If it's one of the nicely done angel eyes, I'd go for it. I would have to see pics of the set to tell you my actual opinion on them. Like I said before, not all angel eyes are the same. Some sets come already pre-assembled with the projector housing and everything. I don't know how hard are those to take apart, but if it's a regular set of US ellipsoids, you can open them, install your angel eyes rings, and if you don't like them, remove them. You can do that too with your smileys, if that's what floats your boat. You can even make your own angel eye rings for cheap. I'm not against smileys, they look really nice. I just think they are not that much better than regular ellipsoids to justify their higher price. Me?, I'd go with US ellips, with angel eyes IF they look really good in YOUR car.

Do US ellipsoids... People think smileys look cool, I don't.. but they're alright.... I'm not 100% on if one is better then the other in light output, but once you throw some HID's in your ellipses I think its fine.... but you should read up on that and learn how to aim them after putting in HID's i wouldn't recommend anything over 5k.....

I am running US Ellipse 4.5k HID's.. with angel eyes I put in myself... (co$tly but to me worth it not too many have what i got.) F the Haters!
