bought a performance chip from midnight tuning but on replacing the stock chip with it car would not start.the first time it just turned but would not start, the second try however it just turned once and then there was a whirring sound from the fuel pump which continued even after i had turned the ignition to the off position it only stopped after i had disconnected the negative terminal of the battery.i contacted barry at midnight and after he asked me for the actual number on the chip realised that even though it was a 175 ecu it had a different program so he was going to send another one next week however i put the old chip back the car still will not start.Barry reckons its the battery i drove all day yesterday and the car was fine, checked terminals and even tried to jumpstart with my other car still nuthing.I plan to get the battery checked and charged to try tomorrow but what else can it be.i hope my dme is not fried i took all the precautions to make sure i didnt have any static dischage in the dme and all that.help y'all

certainly the problem is no relation to the chip and sounds very much like a battery and or terminal problem... The fact that the problem started only after disconnecting the battery is the big tip here...

Does the car crank at all ?
Do you hear a clicking noise when you try to start the car?
Corrosion is a big problem for terminals and will cause cranking problems
After market anti theft alarm system?

update....battery was weak and so i went ahead and replaced the battery..barrie at midnight tuning was a great help in troubleshooting the issue and narrowing it down to possibly the aftermarket alarm or fuel pump relay...but st least she  has started have felt the increase in hp already..it just seems to have more giddy up and revs more wiilingly.thanks to Barrie for the product and the help over skype
