Alternator repair
« on: November 07, 2010, 03:27:28 PM »
Anyone ever replaced the bushings/bearings in an e30 alternator?  I'm trying to see what parts I need to order before I pull & disassemble it.  Part number for brushes would also be helpful.  I presume these would need to come from an electrical parts house & not BMW.  (Can't see them selling anything less than a rebuilt unit).

thx.

Never done it myself, RealOEM might have a diagram.  I agree that you're likely only to find rebuilt units from parts places.
