2.1 ITB mangement???
« on: October 02, 2010, 04:56:35 PM »
Got my M44 block almost ready for boring and M47 crank is ready to be machined and balanced once I decide what flywheel I'll use.

M42 spare head is ready to be played around with

got the S50b30 and B32 ITBs as well as S50b32 euro pistons so just have to decide on rods now and what to do with the pistons

Trying to decide what engine management I'll use though...

Sort of brought it down to either...

DTA S60, Haltech or VEMS.

DTA is probably the most expensive (although must double check prices for the others) but wiring it will be a walk in the park over a night or two and its also the management of choice on a tuner I'm on very good terms with so mapping would be favourable.

Anybody have any opinons on which would be best in terms of ease of mapping, wiring and value for money
Car will be a daily driver too so needs to be reasonably refined.

VEMS would be nice considering its what the S42s ran but I'd get DTA and Haltech at a discount since some friends of mine are dealers for them.

Of course I could cheap out and not fit the ITBs and MAP sensor and chip the Motronic to death

If you pick up a $40 chip burner, wideband O2 system, I can work with you  sending files back and forth a few times till the tune is perfect otherwise you are best to go with standalone
