much improved noise, vibration, harshness. temp gauge reading 3/4 of scale. thermostat is wahler pn 11 53 7 511 580. also on box is 4236.88D. guessing the 88D is 88 degree C. the old one was an Aeolus-Thompson (made in China) 176 degree F., which kept the temp needle approximately center of gauge. if i remember correctly 9/5x88+32 converts C to F, which makes the new thermostat 190.4 F., so could the new thermostat temperature make the gauge read 3/4 scale? assuming math and installation are correct. this my first post but i've been a member for a couple of years, since i bought my 318is. most everything i know about my car came from this site. thanks.
