COP Kit Exposed Wires

Hey so I received and installled my COP kit today (thanks Rob)! I might be imagining things but it definitely feels like the engine is running a little smoother and accelerates smoother too!

So as you that have done this know, you have to cut the sheathing off of the coil cables in order to be able to arrange them onto the coil packs. As a novice I'm questioning if it is ok for the cables to come in contact with the hot valve cover? I wrapped the cables with electrical tape, and zip tied them as far away as I could from all metal, but the cables that run along the "valley" are touching the valve cover. Should I be worried or are the cables and plastic sheating on each individual cable heat resistant?

PS Anyone know what would be reasonable to ask for the spark plug cables that I removed? They work fine. Look great (although one of the cables is wrapped in electrical tape). I'm in no hurry to sell them...

uhm, i didn't have to do that. my install went like this:

- remove coil pack
- install plate with associated washers
- install coils
- connect coil pack leads
- test-fire and drive
- drink beer

i did have difficulty trying to route the bundled wires around the "finger" around the plate and i decided i didn't care, and have had no ill effects from that.
