E36 M42 318ti aux. fan switch compatible?

I've been wanting to know if people have done the 80/88c fan switch for sure. The aux. fan kicking in earlier would be nice so I don't have to worry about heat during traffic and sitting still.

Has anyone done this mod? If so, what part # did you use? I ordered my E36 switch but it looks wrong. It's still 3 pin, but very "thin" pins and not the prongs like on ours. Thanks!
