M44 injectors
« on: January 11, 2010, 10:18:32 PM »
Yesterday, I looked up the injector number for the M44 engine. I was pretty sure that it would be a 4 pintel injector. Today I visited the junkyard near my business that has a 93 & 95 318...I have been buying parts off of both these cars. They would not sell me the injectors from the motors. They said the injectors stayed with the motors. Anyway, the guy whipped out a fuel rail with 4 injectors attached. He said it was from a BMW engine that was sold in parts. I read the number on the injectors & sure enough they were Bosch 0 280 150 501. The guy asked for $35 a piece...no warrantee. I offered him $80.00 for the whole assembly including fuel rail...he said oh all right. Anyway I got 4 injectors from an M44...they are clearly 4 pintels. I hope these fit my M42 318is 1993. Has anybody used these injectors in their M42? Where can I buy "O" rings, seals & filter to overhaul?

Follow up on my M44 injector post.
After I got the injectors home, I realized they have an additional air tube going in to the cover of the injector. Now I am not sure if these will fit my    M42 engine. Does anybody hve any experience with M44 injectors fitting an  M42 engine?

i don't know about the air line but i know you can get o-rings from lowes or ace hardware in the bath section.  they should have a wall of tons of different o-rings.  i bought some for my old 89 325i when i upgraded to injectors from a ford 4.6 and used these and the car has been on the road for over 5 years with those o-rings and injectors running fine.
