looked at it for a bit today, no vac leak....took icv out and put 12v to it and it didnt activate...problem found i believe.
btw...prob a dumb question but whats a stomp test?

on my way home, e30 began to idle from 1500 - 2000 rpm, i assume ICV but figured ide ask the pros here before i search junkyards.

most likely your coolant flange under the intake. its easy, and i believe either german autoparts or pelican parts has them in stock. mine was cracked a few months ago and its about an hour or so to change it

i have a 91 318is and i ran into a curb and broke my is lip and airdam(under bumper where foglight assy is on). i found one on an oem site, but the one i found says "convertible only". does it matter if my car isnt convertible?

im not too familiar with dc, i never go there. i usually go to baltimore for concerts and stuff. but im down with a dc gtg maybe sometime after the new year

ok so i checked and checked and check all lines/hoses, anywhere where air/vacuum is, everything was ok, except for the nipple on the bottom of the intake for the icv, so i replaced with one laying around, that wasnt cracked. my idle is still fluctuating and stalling at stops, yes i know, "just like a vacuum leak". like i said before, i noticed that the idle smooths out when the electric fan cuts on, everytime, then when it cuts off, idle goes to shit again. im dumbfounded here, i thought it could have been coolant air pockets, but ive purged it through the radiator vent screw many many times, swapped all my intake gaskets, swapped icv and air meter...nothing.
btw, the arrow on the icv is supposed to point towards the manifold...right? hah

na, i dont think its an ecu...dont get me wrong i really appreciate all the input, but i dont really think its an ecu, maybe im wrong.
