Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / Aftermarket fuel rail

You can remove the stock fuel pressure regulator an then there's two O rings ,if you remove the smallest one, the fuel it;s gonna by pass the fuel pressure regulator and you'll be able to set your own pressure with your rrfpr. In case you want a smaller base pressure.

Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / head studs

Hi guys, does someone know where I can get head studs from.Looks like ARP doesn't make studs for our engine or maybe I.m wrong.I.m a bit afraid to push it more without at least head studs.

Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / m42 turbo or m50 turbo
« on: September 20, 2008, 06:57:22 PM »
I feel bad to do  this swap cos the m42 proved to be a very strong engine. The thing is that a want to make power as cheap as possible and reliable as well. The thing that saves me a lot is that a can do all by my self .

Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / m42 turbo or m50 turbo
« on: September 20, 2008, 06:44:53 PM »
I would go m50,actually I bought a 525 from 92 for the engine and it's gonna be my next project M50 turbo. As you see ,you have to push to much in m42 to get some power.I mostly drive the car on the streets so the handle offered by the m50 swap I think it's enough.

Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / Motor mounts

Go with E28  535 from like 1987,I just change those o mine and the car feels nice ,vibrates a bit more but for me it's OK and the engine doesn't move that much, mine was moving too much due to the extra torque

Yes,I'll come .

Depends,You could use it when you do the tuning or you can permanently install it in the car and see if something goes wrong,so like that you can prevent a engine blow.

Are you from Ottawa??,coz I live in Hull and work in Ottawa. My car has a M42 and it's turbo.

Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / My M42 turbo build

Thanks man.It crossed my mind but I was thinking more to use some how water ,cos it's easy to work with copper,it's easy to solder it ,but I don't think it's really necessary. My car runs very well at 10 psi,but I really need a bigger turbo ,this one it's to small, chocks my engine ,if with this one I can run 10psi ,I'm thinking that I'll be able to run maybe 1-2 more psi with a bigger one,the engine it's bone stock.

1st factor was the price,it's 8 or maybe 10 times cheaper then lets say 666 one and I'm pretty sure that can handle 300 hp with no problems. And for the fitment ,I used 2 sets of exhaust gaskets cos with just one the turbo flange it would be to close to the valve cover, mostly to the valve cover gasket which is from rubber so...As long as I'll use this engine I gonna keep the manifold.I'm thinking about a m50 turbo and 80% I might use the same model of manifold,I don't think that it's that bad.
