You cant go that low.. the M42 oil pan hangs lower than the IS lip does... yes you do need a lip..
(I wonder which car is JP's?)
4.10 LSD was installed in my car yesterday. I will report back on how sideways action is done soon.
BTW, did a mod go through and rename all the titles to the threads in this sub-forum to the name of the poster?
Damn, I was hoping it was an airbag model car. I want to do an E36 M3 rack swap, but I've heard it's a pain.

RIP Will's E30'ness.
How much for the iS? And did you fix the headgasket?
dang, why?!
A local rebuilder here in town told me the labor was $200-$225 because there was a lot more press work involved in 240 and 260 Getrags. He also said that the only ones he ever rebuilds (Getrags) are for Dodge trucks and the like. Most 240 and 260's are just swapped for used ones. Does anyone know of an actual rebuild? How much did it cost? Most of them I've encountered were simply clutch replacements by people who weren't clear jobs on the terminology.
Sounds like synchro's, dogs or a bent selector rod. Did it get worse after the short shift kit was installed?
Could also be a dragging clutch - try to changes gears with the engine off to see if it improves.
Stockton Pick N Pull has two alpine white late model e30's both with good passenger side fenders.
The throwout bearing on my parent's M5 did this before it was replaced. Sounds like the same thing to me.
