M42 Reference / 1993 318i

Hi folks
Just joined, recently acquired a long sitting 1993 318i coupe, has bad hi/ lo fluctuating idle, no power from 1-3 gear (auto trans) and to top it leaking coolant by the transmission pan. I believe this engine has no plastic coolant tee behind the head as I’ve read about some engines having, but it does have a tee under the intake manifold. Also the idle control valve is under there in the same vicinity? Will look into these parts to hopefully find some cause and effect. Advice welcome
