Perhaps nobody will ever read this but for what its worth i did this MUTI delete on my first e30 318is, and on my current one (going for sale next year) i will be replacing everything as from the factory with new parts. Installing some hokey hoses and not having it fit factory, as well as zero benefit from deleting the TB heater plate, is not worth it to me. However, if you wanna do it, its easy when youre in there

Im just redoing this again and im going full oem parts with the system intact. I cannot get the fricken upper manifold off for some reason. And theres no guidance except a dead link. Gonna try again tomorrow. My last 318is i could take it all down in 10 mins i did it so many times. Dont know why im struggling this time

They sold to ecs, like, a long time ago my friend. I was sad too, as i enjoyed no sales tax, but the nexus laws changed after that anyways

Engine management / Troubleshooting rough hot start idle, code 1224

So i have a stomp test code 1224, intake air temp sensor, and have read i need to replace the whole AFM, before i do that, does anybody know what readings i should get and how to test that sensor? It has a bouncing idle for a few seconds after a hot start (like my last 318is which was partially rememdied by cleaning the icv) but i also have this code i would like to solve. Any direction would be great.

Picked up a new aplinewhite E30 318iS with a CEL that the stomp test tells me is 1224. PO said there was an oiled air filter in there he took out (not sure if related) but i cannot find for the life of me how to test that sensor. I read on forums “the bently manual tells you how” but nobody elaborates and i do not have that manual. Is there anybody here that can tell me how to test it? As far as i can tell if its shot i will need a new AFM.

This horse has been long dead and so are the links. I used to have every manual on my phone but never downloaded them, and now i cannot for the life of me find the BMW factory manuals anywhere anymore. Does anybody have them at all? Can we please repost them if so.
