I like the M42.
I thinking to keep my crashed eta too. 25 years old, so I don't have to worry about emission anymore. But she needs serious front job. Plus the drive shaft support, plus staring rack, plus... :)

M42 Buyer's Guide / how much for it?
« on: January 15, 2011, 12:40:33 AM »
I'm confused about 318ci price. i find one on craigslist for $4200.
92 M42 with . It needs a complete 4 set of pad/4 rotor/rear calipers. I don't want them to fix it,, because they will go cheap.
Body nice, little rust above one of the tail light. top great, interior 7 out of 10, but not leather.

Here is a not to good picture of it.

Thank you man. I have to buy it first.
It was interesting to drive her. Sounds like a toy car after the M20 engine. No offense. :)
Same body but definitely different world.

Hi Dave. I'm here only 2 days, but I see you are the guardian angel of this forum. lol

Thanks for the information. I really thinking to jump into that convertible. Nice body, just a little rust above the right tail light. When I saw that rust I knew I really looking an E30 and not something else. :)

The interior is a boring gray plush, but in good cond.  Undercoating excellent. Too good to be true. i did not see any drips under the car on the snow.  Neither oil or coolant.Engine block clean. Not clean-clean, just not oily. Idle was constant, and the temp was slightly below half way on the gauge.
I'm not sure about the suspension, but the brakes are trashed. The rear ones are metal grinders and they are stuck.
She has 148k.
My major concern was the fog light's wiring. They are very handy here in New England. To make the rest working will be just the frosting on the cake.
I'm sure i will ask you for help.
Frist thing I have to negotiate the price.

Thanks
Steve.

I recently checked a 318ci and i noticed some parts are "missing" comparing my 86 eta.
Fog lights, fog light switch
"head's up" display
seat heat and switches.
Cruise control

Can I build them in? Are the wires came with the car or I have deal with that too?

Hi. I about to take a look on a 318ci, tomorrow. Wish me luck with it. The posts were helpful.
Unfortunately I have to look something after my 325e.
