Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / Building myself a warmed up M42

Hello everyone!
My car is high miles (and I have had it for over 12 years) and will need an engine eventually so I want to sort out things like the ITBs and ECU before I rebuild the engine and make sure that those things are running in harmony with the car. My first mods I want to do are HQ Autosport COP conversion (using Bremi coils/new plugs), then K-Data Megasquirt 2 ECU, then possibly a AFM removal, some larger injectors (I think 300cc should be enough for all these mods, including future ones. Have not spec'd the brand out yet), then some DBilas or RHD itbs along with a custom AFM-free airbox. I am leaning toward DBilas for ease of installation, although it seems they are better suited for high revving rather than normal driving due to shorter runner length. Then when I am ready and confident all this stuff is working properly, it'll be engine build time! Mods would include port/polish head, mild sport cams (preferably not regrinds) and a bottom end (have not decided whether to do the 2.1L conversion or not).
I guess my questions are: am I on the right track to keep the car mostly drivable for the street (not my daily, so I can deal with some minor annoyances) and are all these parts good quality? Obviously I'm not after the cheapest option, but I want to keep the original engine.
Thank you!
