Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / Oil pan front pickup point
« on: June 14, 2014, 06:57:07 AM »
Does anyone know the purpose of the plug in the front of the oil pan on the M42 and M44?  It is on the inlet side of the pump between the pump pickup point at the bottom of the pan and the pump.  I'm wanting to see if I can use that point for a turbo return line.  Right now I'm using an electric scavenge pump.  Has anyone tried this?

I'm putting my engine back together and the machine shop gave me part #14.  It goes in the block.....but, where?

Engine management / Need Base .msq EDIS4
« on: June 05, 2012, 09:06:52 AM »
Got the engine running this weekend on MS2 v3.  Added a second ignitor and used the coil pack from the EDIS4 in wasted spark mode.  The ignition and fuel code I'm currently using is from my s14 code.  Still looking for a good M42/M44 base code.

Hi,

Does anyone have a base .msq file using EDIS4 they could share?  I've got my base code from my s14 usint a 30-1 wheel....and I've not figured out how to change it to the 60-2 wheel.

TIA

p.s.  Once I get the base engine running I am going to install my turbo components.....so, a base turbo code would also be helpful!  Thanks!

Looks like my EDIS system which I had running my s14 is not a plug and play on the M42.  EDIS must have the 30-1 trigger wheel and the stock 60-2 will not drive EDIS4.

Oh well.....back to soldering....

Still would appreciate a base .msq

I have two....one unknown condition.  The problem is....I don't know which one is which at this point.  They came with the motors I bought.  One was from a friend of mine and the A/C worked.  The other may be perfectly okay also.  Both came from s52 upgrades.  Shoot me an offer.

Engine management / megasquirt questions
« on: January 27, 2011, 12:45:00 PM »
I had my s14 in my race car up and running on MS II V3 Alpha-N and recently pulled it to replace it with an M42 turbo.  The plan is to get similar HP with a larger area under the torque curve.

I'm also doing something fairly unique with the tranny.....
