Relocate or cop. Both work. Wire harness is long enough to move it just about anywhere you want.

Just curious as to why the owner decided to go with the liquid intercooler?
Customer wants no visible signs that the car is turbocharged. Core will support more than the motor will make.

We dont do full drivin in/drive out installs at the shop. I work closely with another local shop who primarily does tuning but installs as well. If you were interested to see what a complete package would cost, contact http://www.eplabs.net and ask what your pricing options would be for engine management, tuning, and installtion ancillary items such as oil lines to go with our fabricated parts. If its something you'd like to persue we can go from there.

Labor for?
That pricing is out the door for all my parts custom fabbed on the car. Labor for motor building/swapping, tuning, suspension work etc etc will be additional from the other shop thats working on it. Its going to be an large bill for the total build but every suspension piece will be done, the motor will be bulletproof and powerfull and he wont need to do anything else besides drive it and if desired further turn up the boost.
A typical turbo manifold, off the shelf air/air ic, custom piping, dp, exhaust usually costs in hardware ~$3500.....this car pretty much has everything so its substantially more.

After all is said and done I believe his invoice on fabricated parts is around $5k Thats turbo manifold, intake manifold, intercooler, intercooler coolant tank, intake pipe, fuel rail, intercooler piping, couplers, tbolts, downpipe, full exhaust all the way back with a muffler and 2 resonators.

what turbo is it? gt2860r? How much for the TB?
GT2871 I believe. It was supplied by the shop whos doing the tuning/motor build.
Are you referring to the throttle body or the intake manifold as far as pricing?

Yikes, that looks tight. I dont think I would feel comfortable making a manifold in something that confined without having the vehicle at the shop. You wouldnt happen to be local to us would you? (Milford, CT)

why not itbs?
Customer wanted a single TB, dont have to synch 4 seperate throttle blades, less expensive, no hassle of blending alpha n and map based input for part throttle transitioning for good driveability, list goes on. He's running stock cams so theres not really much reason anything else. One of the main benefits of ITB's besides throttle response is not having cylinder pulses from huge cams causing havoc in a post tb intake plenum. Surprisingly as of late, well designed single TB intake manifolds have been making more power than ITB's in many honda n/a applications.

It starts to taper at cylinder 3. The shop thats tuning it spec'ed a bored Passat throttle body. The entire setup is very overkill as the initial goal is "only" 300whp. We know the customer and he will definately get bored and want to turn it up so any future upgrades will only need a larger turbo, more fuel and possibly a throttle body swap rather than tearing the whole system apart. The intake will work well, theres 11tybillion different opinions on plenum shapes and such. The only times Ive ever seen real world problems crop up are when severe edges/angles are used or if its grossly over/undersized plenum. We're anxious to get dyno results on the whole setup and it will be completed fairly shortly.
