Have one myself and it is a great piece to have. It's plastic though, not rubber. I used double-sided tape and I'd suggest that instead of drilling like some people do.

Engine + Driveline / Refreshing an M42 w/192k

silence over on r3vlimited has poly mounts for the m42. I'm running them and at first the NVH is pretty harsh, but once they break in it feels nice and sporty. I daily drive with them in.

BUT...if I had to do it all over again, I'd probably consider the e28 mounts. Those should have been standard. The hydraulic mounts really rob the car of its character IMO.

Nope. Pretty sure I need a new clutch though. I have a feeling it's not related though because it feels clunky in general in the rear, and it's the same only in first and second gear, and occasionally in reverse. Getting the drivetrain inspected next month, however. I'll post back and let you guys know what it ended up being

Bumping this up. Having the same issues with the clunking. Pretty much everything has been replaced as well. It's also more pronounced in reverse.
