WTB/WTT / WTB E30 Sunroof panel prefer in brillantrot red.
« on: April 30, 2018, 01:01:00 PM »
Testing the water, discovered sunroof panel in my DD has a serious case of rust around the drivers side attaching points.  If I could find a brillantrot red one that would be cool, otherwise I have a 99% rust free white one in the parts Car.

Yep, I have his kit on my E30,  left him a note on his web site the other day.  Haven't heard from him, my guess is he has his hands full with other projects.  In the meantime I thought I'd take a shot here.

General Topics / E30 Dash
« on: February 21, 2012, 07:48:50 PM »
At the risk of being thrown out of here, has anyone tried cover a cracked dash with something like 3M DiNoc Carbon Fiber Vinyl Sheet Wrap?  I suppose one would have to fill the cracks 1st with some kind filler, maybe silicone.  I don't know if it would stretch to line parcel tray on the passenger side.  Folks seem to be doing lots with the material.

The new car is a more "in face" cracked dash, maybe it was the dash in the wrecked car grew on me since I had it since new and the cracks were all mine!

General Topics / heater blower removal

And the answer is yes, you do not need to remove the intake manifold.  I did temporarily remove the wiring from the plastic guide by cutting 4 wire ties, I don't know that it was necessary. The hardest part was reinstalling the spring clip that holds the motor in place.

Anybody know if the heater blower can be removed with the intake manifold still in place on a E30 318is (m42).

Off-topic discussion / Insurance value of a nice 1991 E30 318is
« on: November 06, 2011, 07:52:22 AM »
I've got the usual tale of woe, we have all seen hundreds, they all hurt.  My 91 318is what hit from behind by a cell phone yakking teenager.  I doubt he hit the brakes.  Pushed me into the car in front.  Probably the only body salvageable is 2 doors and the LF fender.   The car was in great shape, the body was about at least 9/10.  Interior was less so as the original cloth upholstery was disintegrating and the dash had several crack.  Mechanically the engine and suspension was 100% since the car spent much of its recent life doing driving events.

The headache begins.  I’m looking for documented cases of good to great condition E30 318is’s trading hands to help substantiate and insurance settlement.  I’m not sure we need to waste the bandwidth so PM will do.

As the original owner of EE73042, RIP.  You served me well for 240000 miles.

Thanks
