Good save! I hope someone utilizes it somewhere. I paid $1k for just the complete m42 engine not that long ago, this is a good deal.

WTB/WTT / Re: WTB: M47 crankshaft in Florida
« on: April 06, 2015, 02:09:25 PM »
There are a few, but I have no idea which one will actually fit. They aren't very good at posting part numbers or cars which they came off of. Does anyone know if the 2007 520d m47d20A crank would work?

For Sale / Re: Lightened crankshaft for m42 m44 stroker
« on: April 02, 2015, 01:21:34 PM »
My intention is to build a 2-2.1 stroker. I have been looking into the various options, such as the m47 crank and s50 pistons. The m47 crank has an 88mm stroke, which is what yours is offering. Also, your crank is lightened to 28lbs, a savings of 11lbs? Is your crank a machined m42 crank? I would actually prefer the forged pistons, however would an 86mm bore instead of an 87 be optimal? From what I've read, an 88mm stroke (m47 crank) and 86mm bore (s50 pistons, shaved 1.5mm) would result in nearly 2.1l and a near stock 10.5-11 compression ratio. If that's the case, I may just buy your crank and then shave the US s50 pistons myself, unless you have forged pistons that you use and would recommend.

This is mainly going to be a street car, driven 3-5 days a week with some eventual autocross involved. My m42 just died and if I'm going to rebuild it, I might as well do it right. What would you suggest?

Also, you said that your power numbers would be run in March. Have you had any dyno results? Do you have a picture of your machine process? Pics of any installations that you've done?

Interested in the stroker kit. What is the final compression ratio? What would be the final displacement? Would this setup be suitable for a street car, or is this more for a race application?

I'm in 941 as well, near West Bradenton but probably moving to Sarasota in a few months. I haven't seen your e30 around (I'm in Sota a lot) but it looks clean. I'm on r3v as Nairb, not on here as much!

Electrical / Changed crankshaft position sensor, now no-start?
« on: April 06, 2012, 07:00:28 PM »
I've been chasing down a problem these last few months that has not been letting my car rev past 3000 RPM. So in an effort to remedy the situation, I went in to change my crankshaft sensor.

Changed it yesterday, and now the car won't start.

Part number: 0 261 210 047

Any help?

A buddy of mine recently test drove a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V coupe.. about 550hp/tq.. superhcarged V8.

He said that he thinks my 318is with supercharged s52 could beat the CTS-V to 120mph no problem.. I looked at him like "WHAT?" The car is fast, but CTS-V fast..? That'd be a fun race though..

He knows his cars pretty well, and he's driven my 318is a bit, but I thought that was a bold statement..

Interior / Floor Mats
« on: October 12, 2011, 05:04:21 AM »
I am also in FL.. I bought the car with these mats:

I am not EXACTLY sure what they are, but they are OEM BMW... I want to say that they are e36 all-weather mats. In the picture, they are very dirty, but they do a very good job of protecting my floor and collect a lot of sand/water/whatever.
