Engine + Driveline / Re: M47 crank on m44, crank sensor bracket?
« on: August 26, 2019, 10:04:07 AM »
Yeah check with Metric Mechanic. They provided the bracket for my 2.1L M42 that uses an M44 timing case. I would stick with the M44 timing case on the M44 since its oil pump flows 10-20% more oil, and on a built engine lubrication is even more important.

I already emailed Jim through MM web contact page as well as email, but no reply whatsoever.
And can’t really phone him because I’m not in the states.
Does anyone knows how to reach him apart from the ways I mentioned above?

Engine + Driveline / M47 crank on m44, crank sensor bracket?
« on: August 16, 2019, 09:15:48 AM »
Hey guys,

Been meaning to build my m44 engine for quite some time.
I’m beginning to collect all the parts, but one of the challanges that I see is the crank position sensor for the m47 crank.
As we know, the m47 crank has an external crank sensor located in front of the engine, while the m44 uses a crank sensor inside the block on the rear of the engine.
I have seen some pics on the web that a few have managed to make a custom crank sensor bracket to mount to the m44 timing case.
Where can I find such crank sensor bracket for the m44 engine?
Thanks.
