Suspension / Loose pilot bearing

I am in the process of changing the clutch on my 318is (Getrag 240). The new pilot bearing is a little loose in the engine output flange. Now my concern is this: When I re-mount the trans, might the splined shaft of the transmission push the pilot bearing too far in, or is this not a worry?

Suspension / steering rack mounting

I recently installed offset front control arm bushings on my 318is. The bottom of the struts are slightly pushed forward giving increased pos. caster. I have noticed that there are two pairs of holes in the lateral suspension frame to which the steering rack is mounted. I have also noted that my tie rod ends are now slightly forward. Should I re-bolt my steering rack to the forward pair of mounting holes? Will the steering shaft slide/allow for this change?

I need driver side seat adjustable thigh support. Mine is from 1991 318is black vinyl. It has some small cracks. I need a nice clean one to complete the cabin restoration. I would also accept the thigh support cover only. Tom - 860 334 6356 in Connecticut.

For sale gauge cluster coding plug (BMW# 17 1385 468). Will ship USA $10 total. Previous owner installed a 325 dash in my 318is. I had to change out the coding plug for the tach to read correctly.

I have the instrument cluster (gauges) out of my '91 318is to change to the correct coding plug. I guess this car had a 325i dash installed years ago. Now the gauges are lit a reddish color and are pretty dim at night. Can I change the illumination bulbs to something brighter? And where would I get them?

For Sale / FS brand new Magnaflow 2.25 inch inlet SS muffler

I installed the Magnaflow #13255 Stainless muffler on my 318is two days ago. I had previous deleted the cat and the exhaust with this chambered muffler is too loud for me. The dimensions are: 23 inch overall length, 18" case, 9" wide and 4" high. You must cut off original muffler and modify/ shorten the straps of the rear muffler hanger.
