Photoshop, Media, & Artwork / Re: New painjob for the E30
« on: February 20, 2014, 08:41:31 PM »
I'll give it another month for the paint to "cure" before i start waxing and polishing

Insurance paid for the front end to be done and i added $2k to get it finished off

I have had the car fully painted after an old lady decided to reverse into the front of my car.

The car usually sits on Borbet A's but i had these put on while it was in the paint shop

did you guys ever get m40 engines in e30s or e36s? I got my SMFW off one of those engines and a M40 clutch kit. Eveything fits perfect, all i needed were m40 flywheel bolts. M20 stuff seems too complicated

depends on the lowering. 225 will be considerably wider so you will get some rubbing. I'll take a look tonite and let you know. My car is about 1" lower than stock, sits on H&R springs and i had to run 3mm spacer on the front, but i had no issues with guard rubbing

Et 15 and 205/45/16. They did rub just a tiny bit on the back but a large pipe sorted it out :)

« on: August 01, 2012, 03:41:07 AM »
i did the conversion on my e30, i used a flywheel and the clutch kit off an M40 engine. Not sure if you have those available in US, its a single cam 1.8

Engine + Driveline / M42 single mass VS M20 single mass conversion
« on: May 30, 2012, 08:52:51 PM »
i have done a similar thing, got an m40 flywheel and an m40 clutch kit, everything fitted fine. can you guys get an m40 flywheel over there? I think the non air con m42s in US came with a single mass flywheel

M42 Reference / How far can you go? Fuel tank cap.
« on: August 24, 2011, 09:36:59 PM »
I have never ran any of my cars all the way till they start cutting out. There is so much dirt on the bottom of every tank, very bad for the fuel pump and the fuel filter.
I do 450km with a tank of 98 octane fuel every time for the last 2 years i had the car. This is city driving and i dont drive it gently.
No idea how to convert this to MPG, but its about 10L/100km

Engine + Driveline / Differential, Small case vs Medium?
« on: August 22, 2011, 03:51:24 AM »
I have a medium case 4.10 LSD off a US model e30 m3 and it bolted right in. Didnt need to touch the driveshaft. Apparently small case diffs are prone to beakage, where mediums can take a lot more
