Hey All,

I have for sale a 1991 M42 Convertible. 164K
I purchased this car a few weeks ago with some items that needed attention ASAP, which I repaired with the intent of using it to drive the short distance between Daly City and SFO airport.

When I received the car it needed the engine wire harness replaced, the [plastic] coolant line running under the intake manifold block had one of the nipples snap off into the connecting hoses and the timing belt tensioner had to be replaced. The front seats were broken, and the previous owner was nice enough to include all of the previously mentioned parts, which have been installed, including a new tensioner that I bought recently to quiet down the rattle under the hood. I have not yet swapped out the seats, but they will be included in the sale.

Interior is black leatherette (vinyl) and could use a bit of cleaning up. Dash has a few small cracks, but nothing huge, radio will need to be replaced, as well as some wires that appear to have been used for a subwoofer/amp aparatus, for that bay area 'slap'. If I get the chance, I'll probably tidy it up a bit in the interior. The plastic widow in the top will have to be replaced, as it has hazed over pretty good. I have looked into replacement [plastic] windows for around $150-$200. Interior switches, windows, driver, pax all function properly with no noticable slowing or hesitation.

Exterior is lagoon green, clearcoat peeling on the hood and trunk, but somewhere down the line, someone lightly sanded it to slow the peeling process. Body is straight, no dents and in overall very decent shape. For whatever reason, BMW decided to make these cars with an added lower moulding strip that, on this car, appears to be MIA. Wheels are factory bottlecap style and tires have nominal tread left, they aren't showing thread, but will probably have to be replaced sometime in the near future.
Also included is a piece of trim that has not been installed for the door moulding.

Engine as mentioned before has 164K, just changed the coolant line and wire harness that had some burnt wires, for whatever reason, idles fine, doesnt overheat and drives pretty well, with the exception of that famous clunk between shifts due to worn subframe bushings. Have a replacement set that will also be included. One other thing to note is the exhaust, although it doesn't leak, in my opinion is not the best, and sounds a little raspy. It sin't a performance exhaust, but it ain't original, either, so may have to look into that, depending on personal preference. -Just an FYI.

$1600 or best offer.
