It was the Crankshaft Position Sensor:mad:
mechanics that came to look at it said it was a broken or jumped timing chain:rolleyes:

hey guys.I did try everything you said but still no luck. alot of people said it might be the timing chain. could I do a compression test or how would I check

is that the Idle Control Valve? and how do I hook up this 9V battery to the terminals. if I hold down the gas padle while starting. the engine makes this weird backfire noises. like air coming from the engine:confused:

the other day i was driving my 93 BMW 318is. it was running fine. then after few miles the engine dies on me. tried starting it back but no luck. its getting spark and fuel. turns over but doesnt want to start. I get the code 1262 from the stomp test.

just noticed on my 93 318is it isnt putting out enough voltage. when the car is off it shows 12.6 but after I start it, it only shows 13.10 and max I noticed 13.30. even sometimes when the engine is running it would go under 13 volts. I took the alt already 2 times and had it checked at an auto parts store, shows up as good. checked the belt, good also. at night the cluster lights are dimmed also:confused:

also make sure u used 50/50 mix of antifreeze. I had more water and when it got cold the coolant was frozen and no heat. also when the engine is running take off the cap and see if the coolant is flowing with increased acc

well tonight I went to check the antifreeze level and just saw ice in there:D
guess I put too much water when I was changing my water pump. tonight was a bit warmer and the ice melted when the engine got warmer, so now theres heat;) just need to add more antifreeze

k before 2 days ago the heater in my 93 bmw 318 worked fine, but today it snowed alot and I went to turn the car on to warm it up, it just blows cold air, no heat at all. the temp outside is 10°F very very cold:mad:

found the problem. it was the wire that plugs to the idle speed sensor. it might me damaged but I cant see and dont feel like taking the whole thing apart again. I just unplugged the wire and drives fine

I think when I put the lower intake on. the red wire from the starter is touching that metal. so I guess that might be it
