M42 Buyer's Guide / Which E30's come with M42?

hi i have a k reg 318is coupe, ow i believe it is an m42 enigne iam having problems with it hunting at the momment when it is cold but once it has warmed up it seems fine. the engine diagnostic threw up that the crank vent valve is dodgey but i have bought one which appentley goes on the intake maifold but i have taken my appart and i do not have one of those crank vent valve on mine so now iam kinda stuck any ideas please

hi i have a k reg 318is bmw with and irratic ideling problem, when i first start the car it is hunting (ideling) quite a lot and sounds terrible however once the car has warmed up this problem starts can anyone help please i have had it put on a diagnostic machine and pulled up a problem with my crank vent valve but after looking through my haynes manuel i cannot find where this is situted to and i can not find a detailed  enough pic on line with the necessary info, sorry if i sound a bit vague but i havent ever posted on sites like this b4 so not to sure what hapens next thanks
