Electrical / Charging system problems???

Ok I was driving on the interstate about a week ago. As I was driving I noticed that all the lights seemed as thought they were getting dim. I thought it was me cuz I was tired but they got dimmer. Long story short I pulled to the side and had it towed home. The next day I jumped the car and tested the alt. It was putting out 11volts and dropping steadily.Well I got a used alt and installed it and got the battery charged. I drove it for the firsttime tonight. Well I got about 10min out and everything got dim. I went to make a u-turn to go home and the lights brightened to normal so I make another u-turn and continue to go to applebee's. The rest of the way it drives fine. I pulled out my multimeter when I got there and 13.9volts. Well on my way home everything gets dim again when I start to slow to a light after driving for about 10min. I Want to get it home at this point cause I thought it was gonna die on me. So when I left the light I got on it a bit and wala the lights get bright again. I got home 5minutes later and everything is working normally, just as before. My question is, Is this  a familiar problem? Can someone point me in a direction. I'm thinking voltage regulator???  Thanks

Hey everyone I'm new to m42club. Ive had my 318 for alittle over 2 years.

I've done alittle bit of searching and was curious to see if this would work???

I know its for a 325 and we have 318's but from what I've searched I would just need the emulator and chip (which I have) and a program for me laptop(not sure of any program)
