Engine management / Intermittent Cold Start Issue

Ok I pulled the plugs. I found the following which leads me to believe something may be up with the injectors.

Cyl#1 plug color was a Brownish. = Good burning cylinder
Cyl#2 Plug color was White/Grey  = Lean mixture
Cyl#3 Plug color grey w/black carbon on out edge of plug =? injector leaking/or dirty letting too much fuel into the cylinder.
Cyl#4 White with what appears to be oil burning deposits on it, Not to sure about this. = another ? able cylinder.

If some one has some in-site to this starting problem any help would be much appreciated.

Im currently experiancing the same problem. I let the car sit over night and when I start it it sputters/Misses for about 30-45 sec maybe longer sometimes and them clears out and runs perfect. I don't notice any smoke (unburned fuel) from the exhaust when this happens or the smell of gas. I have the same hunch towards leaking injectors. Im gonna pull the plugs and look at them.

anyone? I found the rank infor m47 320d bmw from germany now need to know the lobe center for the factory cams for my machine guy.....


any help would be apperciated

what pistons ..stock have a bore size of 85 or 86mm

what cranks swap into the m42 to allow a bigger stroke.....


Im in the process of building a m42 for fun and need some info on the quick.


Ill post pics here soon.


P.s No need to ever port a m42 it flows the same ported or not. Had one flow tested today. Just do a 3 angle grind on the valves and you will be good to go.
