Engine + Driveline / Re: 7300rpm in stock M42 E36?

I have a Turner/Conforti chip in my Ti that goes to 7200 that has been in the car for 15 years. It is currently a rallycross car and spends 80% of it's life on the limiter.

General Topics / E36 M3 calipers to fit on E36 318iS discs?
« on: June 19, 2009, 06:11:32 PM »
Not that simple, the caliper typically won't bolt up to the knuckle. As for the disc, if you were to use an M3 caliper with a 318 disc only half of the pad would actually touch the disc, the rest would be too far out.

Won't work

The intake manifolds look quite different.  Like 3seriesnut said, you should have the M42 in the '94.  The M44 appeared about 6 months into 1995.

The intake manifold of the M44:

The E36 M42 and the M44 use essentially the same manifold. That is the E30 M42 manifold.

I have the same problem. you have an E36 318ti ECU like me :D
it's a problem i know. and my solution atm is to find a n E36 318iS ECU and do a direct swap.

you should do that same...

There shouldn't be anything about the Ti ECU that makes it unable to chip. I know for a fact that Tuner sells a chip, they don't specifically say Ti but it's the same thing. I have one in my car.
