Hi!
I'm a member of this forum for some time allready, but only decided to post now. I was just lurking and looking for some info from time to time. I joined as i think we 318is owners need to share experiences and i love the forums. Sadly,(or not) I own m44 engine and I hope it's not a problem. My name is Peter and I live in North West UK. I own my car for more than 2 years, I bought it for quite a lot of money, but i wanted avus blue badly, and it was clean and unmodified example with only 53 000 on the clock. That's how the car looked when i bought it:

Not long after i got the car i bought new M -sport leather gear knob as the old one was scratched. Also I got new head unit, car was originally fitted with pioneer I was not happy with. I'm not a fan of most modern head-units, glowing in the dash board like christmast tree, so i decided for becker grand prix: (not the best quality here). It not only looks good in e36 dashboard, it also has amber lights so looks OEM-like in night. It also made big difference in sound quality.

Other than that, i focused on maintenance like oil and filter changes, spark plugs, spark plug cover, break pads, some worn bushes ETC. I try to do as much work as i can myself. In october last year I bought Goodyear's F1 gsd-3 tyres, and I admit they have unbelievable amount of grip. Sadly, they worn out in one year of driving, with not a lot of miles done really, and economy actually dropped noticeably
Last year i decided for some mods, first came the wheels. Firstly, i wanted motorsports, but everyone seems to have them now, so i bought 5 spoke original bmw wheels from ebay. They came with tyres for 73 quid and that was a bargain
I wanted 17 inch wheels, as i want to keep my car as usefull as possible and my mods sensible. I also fitted Eibach sportline springs to lower the car (45mm front, 35mm rear), I also painted my calipers red, so it looked like that:

This year in january I delensed my front headlamps and added ccfls angel eyes to freshen up the front end. I also replaced my battery . I fitted original bmw battery. Thermostat was also replaced and coolant flushed. Again, I used original bmw coolant diluted 50:50 with distilled water. Rear pads were replaced too. My friend made some pics for me:

Finally, I decided to fit new wheels, and i found these M-contour replicas, 8 inches wide all round, in perfect condition, so that's exatly how my car looks today:

Sorry for long post and too many pictures
