All, i am finally getting around to fixing the 91 BMW 318i M42 Convert that dies back in August 2016. More than likely the hydraulic tensioner failed and cause the valves to get bent in the process. I plan on pulling the head and redoing the timing components and water pump.
Does anyone have this part and is willing to part with it? It appears to be backordered until June/July 2021. Let me know, I am looking for a new one, I have not inspected the old, but would suspect that it would need replacement based on what I am doing? Comments regarding this? Is this generally not a high wear part? What other recommendations would you make for replacement while i am all apart with the timing components? Car has 113k miles on it.
