ok my swap is complete i can say like upto 90%
i currently have only 2 issues left
1. like week after the swap instrument cluster rpm and fuel consumption needles started to work erratic (tried to a different instrument cluster from a another m40 still the same issue)
2. when i connect the icom it doesnt detected, so i dont have any diagnostic capabilities

Hi,
I installed a/c in my e30 318is. Everything works fine, but when A/C is turned on, rews drop low, that engine dies. When A/C is off car idle at aprox. 800 rews/min, when A/C is on drop on 500...I tried to connect signal wire from A/C to dme pin 85 or 86, but it is not better...

Any idea or sugestion what to do? I tried on both computers from e30 and from e36, on both same situation. Engine is e36 m42b18 with e30 intake manifold, engine wiring is from e36 engine.

where you been able to sort the AC idle bump issue,
and why did you change intake manifold?
i did the same swap to an E30 316i, have to Say with DISA it does make a bit of a difference

i recently did an m42 swap to an m40b16 engined e30,
everything works good,
except im stuck in AC idle bump,
couldnt figure out wire, as i checked the WDS e30 and e36 have a totally different way of doing the ac idle bump, plus theres an AC compressor cut off in E36 M42
any idea on this

Hi All,
im a bit new to this,
i recently did an m42 swap to e30(316i m40),
engine was sourced from and 92 e36,
i was been able to make and adapter harness, from C101 to X20 to make things neat,
and today i found out the ECU is going really hot, to a level with i cant even touch it, any idea's where to look for?
and i also have an issue where if i apply the throttle in an gentle manner engine revs properly, if i rev it by hand, engine bogs and have intake back fires

any idea where to look out for
