where are you at, maybe you can find somone local to get you some advice
you can also check r3v club and look regional

but I would be surprised if you dont have bent valves
or it could be a simple fix and the shop where your at now is hosing you

Engine + Driveline / Power Steering Delete
« on: February 07, 2010, 11:55:55 AM »
if you just want to try it, just take off the belt and drive it, parallel park it. dont like it, reconnect. do like it then finish delete

what I did was put both bolts in tight to align it, then pull one out. the tight one will keep it aligned
squirt fliud in, replace bolt, turn lock to lock a few times, remove bolt, top off, replace

as far as easy to parallel park
for me im not lying, for me its not an issue
but i only have to parralell one time a day, and when your rolling I really like the non p/s road feel
to me it was worth getting rid of the extra belt, the ps leaks and cleaning things up
( i also have a/c delete and fan and fan clutch delete)
and any parasitic delete helps

no p/s, no a/c/ no fan,no throttle body crap, big injectors, cop kit, chipped all of those will help these little motors

General Topics / plugs e30 m42 318is
« on: January 20, 2010, 09:00:39 AM »
I prefer ngk

but I always check my "pre-gap" plugs as I have had some in every brand that the gap has been wrong ( twisting wrenches since 60's)
what does it take, and extra 15 seconds per plug to check and adjust if needed

how long does it take to diagnose a problem with a gap too wide or too tight

Suspension / Front Strut Bars
« on: January 19, 2010, 11:52:11 AM »
the one I got, was told , is a replica of the hartiage bar, I dont know hwo true that is. it is also a copy of the one that bav auto sells
on another forum others have said they use the same one
it was 45 shipped

aftr driving with it on fro a few days, I ma very happy. wiht one exception
it does stiffent the car up, and you will feel even more of the road bumps
makes me wonder, just how much flexing the car was doing and sbsorbing

it got rid of most of my cowl shake and dashboard rattles  ( 91 vert )

« on: January 19, 2010, 10:39:08 AM »
yes replace that plastic pipe, and when your putting it all back together get rid of all that throttle body heater crap, all the vac hoses and water hoses related
use the search or look under the diy, many many of us have done it with only one person that I have read haveing trouble with deleting it, but he is in some very frigd area
it was put on, some say, to help pass us emissions, as pics of  the original factory vrsion, british versions, aftican, and ausrailain cars, dont have it
