Engine + Driveline / m44 318i overheating

Picked up an e36 318i thats over heating. The lower radiator hose stays cold while the upper one gets hot. Thermostat?

Wheels are 17x8.5, 4x100/5x100 dual drill, 57.1 hb, 20 et, ESM 002 BBS RS replicas with 215 40 Kumho Ecsta Lx Platinum tires. At most 3500 miles on the whole set up. Polished Hex caps and knock off BBS stickers.
The Raffle will take place September the 15th at CARBQ by einstein57 (R3Vlimited). You don't have to attend to participate, I'm not. Its being done there because there will be witnesses.
Raffle tickets are $10 and I'll only be selling 150. You are free to buy as many as you want. If the winner is in the US then they'll be shipped at no charge. Any one outside the US will have to cover any shipping amount over $250. Interested? Send $10 to JayCaffie@gmail.com please select I'm sending money to family or friends.

Engine + Driveline / Any one ever had problems with there engine wiring harnes?

My 91 has been giving me so many problems. Just yesterday I had to replace a water hose that went from the block to the throttle body (very hard to get to, I had to remove the intake manifold).
And then less that 24 hours later, this happened. I've been driving my car all morning, I maybe put 40 miles on it, when I go to my friends house. I park my car out front and go inside for maybe 4 hours. I come out start my car and run it for 1 to 2 minutes (definitely no more than 2 minutes, I was pulling out of a tight parking spot). By the time I get out of the parking spot, my car is smoking up a storm. Tons of smoke. So at this point I wonder what the hell could be smoking this badly after 2 minutes, I immediately park it and search the engine bay. I fine that the smoke was coming from the compartment right in front of the fire wall. I removing it and see that some of my wire's have melted down to the copper inside, Another wire on the passenger side is also fried. So now my car hardly starts and when it does it won't stay on.:mad: My friend thinks one wire just shorted and got really hot really fast.
How did this happen? Has it ever happened to anyone else? How hard of job is to replace?

Engine + Driveline / Engine leaking coolant

My Engine is leaking coolant from some place weird. Its not one of the 2 main hoses or the radiator. It looks like its coming from someplace underneath the intake manifold. Where could this leak be coming from. I have a 91 e30 with an m42 head and block from 95. I'm praying its not a cracked cylinder head. :confused:

What will I need to do to put an 1992 e36 m42 into my 1991 e30 318i. I've been trying to do some research and it seams the only thing I might need to change is the intake manifold. Is this true? Is there any thing else?
