"Overnight parts from Juh-pan"

Ouch. Best of luck dealing with that man. I've had similar experiences with large chains like that before ... freakin' nightmare every single damn time.

Now I take all my wheels and tires to a couple guys that run their own operation ... father and son type of place; no ridiculous "techs" to deal with, no nonsense; they don't even have a lift and instead run their operation with a couple of floor jacks. That said, it's by far the best service anywhere in town: they know how to do work correctly and they'll even let you stand next to them while they do it; and to top it off it's the cheapest place in town. I really have no idea what I'm going to do if these guys ever close up shop.

Engine + Driveline / Mustang Injectors in an M42 engine
« on: March 01, 2010, 01:42:50 PM »
Sorry to bump this thread, but it seems like an appropriate place to ask this question:

on late e36s with the air shrouded injectors, can we use earlier style injectors and just plug up the air hoses or will that wreak havoc with the ecu?

I think you meant to type $25 not $250

I sure hope so because <250 buys all that, brand new.

Engine + Driveline / Sad Take off

well is there anything close to being light but not with the issue that a light flywheel brings?

Not really. BMW designed it in such a way to make it easy to drive without snapping your limbs off trying to catch up to the engine winding down all the time ... anything lighter and I'm afraid you're gonna get the same symptoms ... that said, there really isn't a 'heavy ltw flywheel'; nobody makes that as it would defeat the purpose of changing the stocker

Speaking of cams, check out deltacam.com (out of WA) ... lightning fast turnaround, and last I heard I think it was like 200-250 shipped to regrind a couple.

All e30s with ABS use the same one, including the M3. Part number is the same.

Exterior / Show off your rims - (also, what rim size is preferred)?

17x7.5 and 17x8.5 et41 DS2s (235/40 all around ... don't ask ... had them so I used them).

During this summer I really want to change them to 16s ... I want to be able to go lower and I also want more affordable tire choice as my camber is eating these fast. I might get 16x8 Style 5s from a e38

Engine + Driveline / intake ... yes or no
« on: February 05, 2010, 06:48:58 AM »
How much louder was the CAI on these cars?

Only car I've ever had an aftermarket intake on was a Subaru with a short ram, but then again that had a MAP sensor and the throttle body faces the firewall so it sounded like thunder under acceleration. :D

Engine + Driveline / intake ... yes or no
« on: February 04, 2010, 05:07:25 PM »
Should I even bother making an intake? I would build a heat shield and all that jazz ... just wondering if it really does anything on a m42 since we have the flap AFM?

Hello guys, i've recently "upgraded" to an M50 so I no longer have use for beeing an active member on m42club.com... I've been searching for some time now but I can't find any "Unregister", "Deregister" "Resign Membership" button anywhere...

How do i Close my account here?

// Regards Joakim

Just don't log in? It's not like you provided any personal information to register ... what the hell does it matter whether or not it exists.

But if you really must know, an admin can delete your posts and your account, though with how active they seem to be around here lately, I'm sure that wont happen until well into 2012 ... the world may even end before then.

You got my vote. I hate the fact that I come on here and just about every new post is spam yet it takes a week for anyone to do anything about it.

Aside from the addition of the DISA intake manifold and knock sensors, they're identical. Put your manifold on it and leave the knock sensors unplugged (or remove them); everything else is the same.
