About 1250KG apparently but I'm taking a saw to a lot of it because the cage now takes all the load. The cage was done by Rob D'Ercole at ProRace Engineering on the Gold Coast who is an ex-factory/works design engineer. He even got asked by Peter Brock to build him a car before he died so the cage is a thing of beauty. Rob is also helping me with the suspension as the e36 doesn't have a very good wheelbase to track ratio for quick directional changes you need on gravel roads so we are widening the track quite a bit.
I would love an E30 as I've had about 15 of them back in Wales but the compact is very cheap. The 2002 ended up a bit special with many Schnitzer and Alpina parts including an original slide throttle Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection setup from an F2 engine. It ended up with about 220hp from an 8valve but it went bang! But it was a tarmac car and wouldn't be very strong for Australian forests.
