What kind of car is this for? Street, drag, track? An air to water may be better for the first two. Track cars are usually better off with an air to air because of the constant high speed.
This is my daily driver. I know that the cooler will outperform any air-to-air setup on the street. Calculations must be correct for optimum heat exhange. The air-to-liquid setup on my m3 has been great. Very very reliable. After a few hard runs, you can literally touch the top of the manifold without burning the hell out of your hand.
