« on: November 25, 2010, 10:03:16 AM »
Has anyone used these camber plates from Ground Control?

They seem like they are great quality and clean looking.

This is there street/race plates then they look awesome.  Any thoughts or experience?

Are your tail lights smoked US tail lights or Euro tail lights?  I installed Euro tail lights yesterday but the inside cover does not fit them.  Has anyone else out there have a solution to this problem?
Thanks!

Suspension / Springs & shocks Kits
« on: December 01, 2008, 10:04:12 PM »
I checked with COSMO to see what their spring rates were and they e-mailed me back to say that they are: "For the E30 318 spring rates are 336lbs for front and rear. What is the spring rate you need? We might be able to match and fit the closer one per your request; additional cost might be applied with different special spring rates. Hope it helps." quoted from Paul at Cosmo on 12/1/08  What do you think about these spring rates compared to Ground Control?

For you guys at altitude like I am here in Denver (6000'), larger injectors are not what you want.  WE NEED MORE AIR!!

We use studded snows here in Colorado.  I have them on a separate set of rims so I can go back and forth easily in my garage.

Engine + Driveline / 4 bolt to 5 bolt conversion

I'll try to send a picture when I figure out how to do it.  Here's a picture of my '85 M535i with a full Dinan suspension, 40% limited slip rear end, Blanton modified transmission, etc.

Thanks for your information and thoughts on this subject.  I was thinking I could use a set of my wheels and tires from my E28 on the 318iS.  I have a set of BBS RS 3 piece wheels and racing tires that I was going to loan my son for some autocrossing this next Spring, but even if we did the 5 bolt conversion, the offset of the wheels still might not work.  I'll probably just get him his own set.

Engine management / mark d chip

I went to Mark D's web site and I couldn't find the HP and Torque numbers for his chips.  Do any of you what the peak gain is and at what RPM?

I just bought a '91 318is yesterday and the previous owner had a Dinan chip put in.  Any ideas how this Dinan chip compares to the Mark D chip?
Thanks!

Thank you HODGE.  I appreciate the info.  Is their a concensus on this conversion with everyone out there?  Also is it worth it?  I guess that's the main question.  It looks like you can get nice 4 bolt wheels and larger rotors with our existing set-up, so what's the benefit going to a 5 bolt wheel.

Thanks!
Mark

Is your hood painted Black or is it Carbon Fiber?  Does anyone know if there is a Carbon Fiber hood out there somewhere for sale?

I'm new to the forum and my son and I just picked up a nice 1991 318is yesterday.  So here we go with upgrades.  As you see in my TITLE, what parts do you need to convert our 4 bolt 4-100mm to a 5 bolt 5-120mm wheel?
Thanks!
