Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / turbo return oil problem
« on: October 11, 2008, 05:53:08 AM »
ok, but the problem is that the turbo is mounted very low so the only possible way for drilling the hole doing a 90ºdegree angle at the return line from the turbo is were the oil pan starts, below the engine block. or should i drill the block and do a higher angle than 90º degree at the return line? by driling the engine block, the return line will have to be going up! is there a problem with that or its ok?

Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / turbo return oil problem

hi, i´m from portugal and have a 1994 E36! my mother language is portuguese and my english is poor, but i´ll do my best!
my car is now at a garage for turbo instalatio. the turbo is a garret t3, and the manifold is from obx. right now everything is mounted but soon after my mechanic fired the engine, black smoke started to come out, the oil was leaking fron exhaust side of the turbo! the return oil line from the turbo to the engine is mounted at the "screw" where engine oil is drained! can it be the cause off the turbom oil leak? do i have to drill the oil compartment a little bit higher? notice that because of the manifold and space, the turbo is mounted very low!
once again sorry about the english...
