ok, well i have the whole clutch assembly and slave and everything, i was just wondering if the driveshaft will be too short or will it mate up fine. I seen people swap the e36 trannys into there e30's no problem but do they have to use the e36 driveshaft, or stay with e30 or have some custom one made?

I was wondering if a E30 89 318 tranny would bolt into my 92 318 E36?

Hey Everyone,

I own a 92 318i. I had some engine issues on my car so I decided for the time being it would be easier to swap the engine out for another then doing a headgasket job and machine work for my current motor. I purchased a 89 m42 engine to replace mine so I knew I had to replace the intake and oil pan with mine. I purchased a what I found out now M44 intake manifold just to put on the 89 motor and drop in as a whole. So here are my questions:

From what I'm seeing there is just a electrical plug on the bottom of the 44 intake for the torq flap while the 42 has a vacuum flap that then connects to a solenoid with the same plug I think. In theory I believe that they are both just solenoids so I should just be able to plug the plug in and and it should work. SO.....

Does anyone know if the 44 is just a electric solenoid or is there some vacuum source going into that black box?

Also, very important
Does anyone have a E36 M42 and M44 vacuum diagram?

THANK YOU!
