LIKE THE TITLE SAYS: WTB e34 or e30; I prefer an e34…I have had two e30’s already....Please read the entire post, thank you

NOTE: I am out of the country until Mid August, so I am looking to buy then, but if something comes up before then I am willing to work with the seller if he or she is willing to work with me, i.e. having a friend come look and drive the car, or sending me detailed photos, videos (if the car is cross country) AND going through my power of attorney for payment and title transfer.  I AM A CASH (bank check or wire transfer) BUYER PLEASE DON”T WASTE MY TIME OR YOURS, THANK YOU!

General Requirements

Requirements for the e34
Year Range: 1990-1995 (prefer the 94/95 years)
Model: 525i…but show me everything
Transmission: 5spd manual only
Color (in order of desire): White, Silver, Red, Black
Mileage chassis/motor: Chassis: I don’t care as long as everything works and it’s in good condition/motor sub 150K if all possible, will considered those with fresh rebuilds and documentation to prove the rebuild
Price of e34: I would like to stay under $10k but for the right car I will consider more

Requirements for the e30
Year Range: 1989-92
Model: 325i four door will consider coupe if it is a good example
Transmission: 5spd manual only
Color (in order of desire): White, Silver, Red, Black
Mileage chassis/motor: Chassis: I don’t care as long as everything works and it’s in good condition/motor sub 150K if all possible, will considered those with fresh rebuilds and documentation to prove the rebuild
Price of e30: I would like to stay under $5k but for the right car I will consider more

NO RUST!!!! I am tired of rusted out chassis, bolts break off because of the rust, etc…after owning 30 some cars I have become crotchety about rust

Other Considerations
1. I would prefer to buy a Southern car that has not seen the elements, but will consider northern cars that have been garaged and proof of this
2. I would love a car that is tastefully and subtly modified already, I don’t want project cars but stock is ok with me
3. No swaps, unless it is 100% working order with no problems, none of this..all you have to do is…
3. If the car is accident free, and doesn’t meet some of the other criteria, I am willing to look past certain things.

Location of me: Richmond, VA
Contact information email gray dot loftin at gmail dot com or through PM
best way is through email though, put in subject line BMW e30 or e34, so I can write a rule to filter out these emails and so they are not lost to my spam folder, thank you

**Even if you weren't considering sellling your car, think about it, you have some time to decide, like I said I am looking to buy in August when I am home**

This thing hasn't been stickied yet?!? Hmmm maybe I should just delete my original post :P

Anyway, I have been driving my car for a while now and everything is great, except I figured out my AFM is crapping out. So, I guess I got to replace that. On another positive note, my gas mileage has increased, not leaps and bounds but  it has. I was getting 290 to a full tank in the city, now I am getting 310-320. Anway. Now I just have to do some routine maintanence and out this car to work, ehehehe!

I had this same problem! However I just took the casing off that part of the wiring harness when I was trying to get at the blower motor and saw that those two wires were disconnected....so I connected them...put everything back together and got shitty idle for a long time and engine cut offs. Until I remembered I had attached that wire, I unattached it and everything went back to normal, never figured out what it was though...until now...I am still kind of unclear though....what exactly does it mean when it is plugged in? It says that is for when the Catalytic converter is not installed? That doesn't make sense to me, because I have no Cat on my exhaust, and it still runs like shit with it in....anyone care to explain it to me in simple minded terms? =P

anywho....I'm leaving that wire disconnected. ^__^

I detect a hint of female in this post...am i correct?!?!

How many more people have fixed their problem with this fix?

I know I have, now I just need replace the worn out hoses in the engine so I can stop having those tiny vaccum leaks, and I need to eventually replace the AFM, but for right now the car is running like a champ and thats all I care about :D

Side note: talked to my mechanic this morning and he was like wow!

Engine + Driveline / Rough idle/stalls when started warm?!?!?!
« on: January 21, 2009, 01:12:54 PM »
welcome to the club...search my massive thread and you will see all that suffer. Some people have figured out their problems, some haven't. I am just looking for the definitive answer.

Can you accelerate when it starts doing the rough idle, because I can't.

Sorry to start a new thread but I have been gone for so long. I was trying to dig through the old threads but I was unsuccessful in my attempts to find a definitive answer.

Did we ever figure out why we have the Hot Start Problem. I have my car back now and I am about to do some work on it, so I was wondering, before I just jump in the engine like a vrigin on prom night; did we in fact find what cause the car to shake violently, stutter, have no ability to accelerate etc...after the engine was hot?

Thanks

Exterior / Need to locate some exterior Lip "clips"
« on: December 07, 2008, 12:41:44 AM »
My front lip came off after an epic battle with a concrete parking barrier...unfortunately the lip lost

Anyway, I had enough of the replacement clips that hold the IS lip on from the previous owner to make a make shift repair. He purchased the lip and clips a long time ago from Black Forest. So I have been searching for a while now, and after searching this site/R3vlimited/e30tech/pelican parts/bma parts I cant figure out where to purchase them online. I am out of town and want to order them and have them there when i get back, can i get some help?

Oh, they are the clips that fit in the factory spots/factory clips...here is a pic of my car

Thanks
