Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / Plug n play turbo chip
« on: October 25, 2009, 11:26:52 PM »
there is no such thing as a plug and play turbo chip unless your geting a turbo kit bundled from a seller such as dinan, active ect

I will be puting out 8psi and 12psi chips for a specific size of turbo and exhaust combo towards next summer I just want to make sure I havent looked over anything

Engine + Driveline / poping noise in the rear????

I had some issues with my diff too.  It would grind, growl & bang away.  Shot input shaft bearings.  I could move the input flange about an inch with my bare hands!

If you're nailing the clutch on every start you'll be replacing a lot of parts down the road...you might want to think about installing a medium case diff.  A lot of different BMW diffs fit in our cars.  I'm running a medium case 3.73LSD from an '87 325is...it's much heavier and I'd suspect stronger too.

I agree! I'm surprized I got as much out of my diff  as I did seeing how im pushing 17psi  and running our local QT mile track every weeknd for the whole summer

Mine turned out to be a blown diff along with bad bearings inside the diff houseing and the gears were binding on the houseing barely staying intact

these mod's are the same as puting a performance chip in and on stock tune it will defently free up some hp because the timing is conservative and the piston reaches TDC quicker so why do all that work when you can get the same effect from a chip that takes 1min to install... Now combine these mods with any performance tune on the market and you will pop the motor if you dont have knock sensors... to make more power with these mods you will need a retune period !
