Engine management / Re: Help with wiring a haltech e6k m42 turbo

By the way. Seeing you are in NSW. When I last bought ignition modules (Did not even check this time) I could not buy a Huco triple channel (I have two on my other car) by itself for the Haltech price that gets you the igniter, heatsink, plugs and pins. If you peel the Haltech sticker off it was a Huco underneath. And that is with me getting trade price at my local Autopro.

You mean 4 channel ? I have a 3 channel haltech one here maybe I can sell it.

This microtech one looks cheaper but very bulky :

I am currently doing similar with an E11 on an E36 318is. I have not measured the injector resistance (I am using other injectors) but so long as they are high impedance you should be able to drive more than one from a single output.

Ignition wise , how are the coils driven in an E30? (The E36 is the first BMW we have played with) The E36 has the drivers in the DME so we are using a four channel ignitor sourced from Haltech to bypass that problem.

Hey, I'm using bosch 42lb injectors I'm pretty sure they are high impedance.

For the ignition the standard computer has the drivers built in so I'll guess I'll need the four channel .

Thanks I'll update as I go :)

Hi guys im currently stuck with my e30 m42 wiring.

Im doing a plug and pin with a haltech e6k and just need some help with the wiring . Im just doing this on a budget and want to make it work with this computer if I can as I already have it.

so what I have done so far>

idle control > pin 4 haltech
TPS           > pin 31
TPS/MAP 5v > pin 18
coolant      > pin 30
road speed input > pin 5
Air temp    > pin 29
fuel pump relay  > pin 33
12v ignition switch > pin 25
Air con      > pin 28
tacho        > pin 27

So at the moment im stuck with the coils and injectors.
The standard setup is 1-4 and 2-3 injectors together and I want too use the standard setup for simplicity.
Im assuming with the injectors I can wire to any output and just leave two outputs not used? Then just run in multipoint mode ?

Coils> I know they are dumb igniters but not sure how to wire to the haltech.

here is a link to the manual in PDF

And a few pictures of where im at >

That is really quite a stupid place to mount a turbo imo, for numerous reasons.
Aesthetically speaking, its ugly as fuck!
Good luck chief.

mate no need to be rude hes giving it a go and i cants see any problems with it.

most fwd cars have turbo in the same spot and are alot tighter fit , with head sheilds and wrap it wont be a issue at all.

good luck looks good sumthing different to the usual.
