Engine + Driveline / M40 clutch info needed.

:confused:  After trying to get a clutch for most of the week, I finally figured out why it's been such a pain.
Someone before me was nice enough to put in a M40 flywheel & clutch. I wish I knew that sooner.
( If it wasn't for Cobra Jets link to Motortraders last may, I still wouldn't know).
Again, as always, my questions are answerd at 'the club':D My humble thanks!!!
  I am wondering what make/ model/ year/ clutch kit I need. The write up said any M40 was a straight swap, but I don't know enough of  bmw's history to know which cars they came in, so I don't know what to order.
  If anyone knows and wouldn't mind shareing, I would greatly appreciate it.

 Got lucky and didn,t need any!!  Kind of surprised by the prices thought.  $200./ each at the cheapest before I stopped lookin, and started prayin I didn't need 'em. Thanks again for the help !!!:)

If it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't have attempted the engine rebuild I'm doing right now too! You, and everyone else, have be awsome withsupport and help. It was nice to be in the same boat with someone !! Glad everything worked out. See around the forum

Sorry I didn't get back till now, been inside my engine. It's out now, stripped down, and in the shop. (:eek: Don't remember being this nervous and excited at the same time since I first noticed girls.  )( A few years ago now;))
I'm just looking to go stock, can't really afford to do much else now. Got a day or two till she comes back, so I can look into finding some good, cheap pistons incase.

IT'S OUT !!!  
 Well it took all of two days, 87 pictures, and a whole lota faith, but she's out!     Not too bad, all said and done, (would have gone faster with a helper) but I'm happy with it. All in all, she looks great.  Nothing obvious anyways. Shop will tell me tommorrow what I'm lookin at, but I'm fairly confident she's ok. Now i just have to remember how it all goes together. :eek:  ( Thats when I'll probably have more questions. )
  I'll post some pics tommorrow, once I figure that out, just to show off my baby.  :rolleyes::p:rolleyes:

I,m rebuilding my engine, and nobody seems to have any.  Don't think I need 'em, but if I do, i'd be hooped. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey sakukurata. Thanks again for your help (casting # for head). Had to find your thread when I heard you just did your head. Bummer it was cracked. How was the job? Any snags? Hope it was straight forward. Let us know how it turned out.
