Engine + Driveline / Re: Mess under the intake: hose lengths
« on: September 15, 2013, 01:13:14 PM »
Thanks fellas, big help!

I finisher her up... I will say one thing though for anyone who may be reading this, like the fellas in this thread suggest grab part number 11531247398 for the bypass. I went against advice and re-used some hose and it ended up splitting and I had to take everything apart again and get that part anyway so save yourself a headache and don't take shortcuts.

Here is my quick and dirty paint edit of the diagram with red arrows pointing at them.  Delete any hoses going to the heater plate.  Take pictures as you take it apart to help remember where things went once you see how it goes you'll see how much easier routing them this way is.

Can someone familiar with the procedure please re-color or label which coolant hoses to add and which to delete? From my monitor they blue looks the same for add and delete so I cannot make out what I'm supposed to do. Thanks.

Excellent, thank you so much!

Engine + Driveline / Mess under the intake: hose lengths
« on: September 09, 2013, 01:30:21 PM »
I'm about to tackle the mess under my intake but want to make sure I have enough hose, my e30 is my daily driver so it would suck if I didn't have enough and had to bus around to find more hose.

Any idea on lengths for these hoses?

5/8” Coolant Hose?
5/16” Fuel Hose?
19/32” Vacuum Hose?

Put Redline ATF in and it now shifts like butter, very impressed with it  :)

Thanks for the response! I couldn't find RP fluid in my area so I grabbed some Redline ATF D4.

I'll report back with results :)

I've searched and found that different fluid is called for depending on a sticker or marking on the bell housing. There is red, green or none. I seem to have an orange one but I'm guessing its just faded red but wanted to make sure, so here is the pic and if I can get some recommendations on fluid type that would be great (Redline alternatives would be great too)
