Engine + Driveline / Timing Chain Question........

How in the world do you take all of the bracketry and gadgets off to get the stupid lower case off my M42 in the 318ti?
Best I can tell is that the freon must be released on the compressor line in order to get a correct (not angled) bite on the allen socket screw that holds the top of the compressor. Then once the compressor is out of the way, you have to get up in there and take the compressor bracket off.
This sure seems like a long way around and extra expense refilling the A/C. Kind of sucks IMHO.
Anyone got pics or advice? I am about to pull my hair out thinking how stupid this whole sha'bang was designed. :eek:
