Engine + Driveline / Magnaflow exhaust installed!
« on: April 05, 2008, 07:45:32 PM »
What would you all recommend for sizing for piping post-cat? Probably just going to throw a Magnaflow or a Cherry Bomb on there (doing exhaust more for weight savings than anything else), and just piping after the cats.

Now I'm not sure if it matters. Really obscure damn rule means I'll probably be writing a letter to the SEB to figure it out.

IE, was there a way to get it with a "plain" trunk at all? I don't care if it was only ordered by one person, its for SCCA regulations that I'm researching this, if it was, I can run a rear wing (downforce), but if every single 318is was delivered with a spoiler from the factory, I'm not allowed to.

Vendors / GB / EAT chip group buy for E30 M42!

Do you have the O2 sensor installed and working?  Then you should be OK.  The chips are made for stock motors and exhausts, but small deviations in the exhaust are usually OK.   Reducing backpressure requires more fuel, but I doubt it will be running too lean as I richen up the fuel compared to stock.

What have you noticed in performance/tuning differences between cars w/a CAI & magnaflow? Just curious if you have a basemap you could burn me with those. Need every last HP for STS.

What is your opinion on a cold air intake with the M42 in the first place? I'm looking to max out area under the curve, and just curious if a CAI will do ANYTHING for power, or if its just a 7lb weight savings and a lot of noise.

Need a custom driveshaft for that? (just curious)

Engine + Driveline / Fluid fill level questions.
« on: March 24, 2008, 10:03:46 AM »
Just curious how much fluid (in quarts) the 4.10 non-LSD differential will take, as well as how much fluid the transmission takes.

I'm going to be using Redline D4 ATF for the transmission, and Redline 75W-90 for the differential.
