Suspension / E30 spring rate chart
« on: August 04, 2011, 07:27:03 AM »
A while ago (OK - a few years ago) I saw a spring rate chart for all E30's and would like to find it again.
I'm trying to figure out the difference between the stock rates and ride height for the 318is springs and the M3 springs.
If anyone knows the facts or can direct me to a spring rate chart I would appreciate is.
Thanks,
  John

General Topics / Exhaust options for 91 318is, whats available ?

I just bought that same system (Ansa) from Brett Anderson @ Koala Motorsports for $135.  Not sure what shipping would be to OKC though.  He said it's the same system as the stock BMW part but the quality is a notch down from the one with the BMW stamped into it.

'60 Chevy Biscayne 2 dr HT.  6 cyl, 3sp column shift, Army green inside and out.
Rusted out floor with a 2x4 holding up the front bench seat - it only rocked when you stopped and started.  That was a few years ago, like '68.

M42 Reference / How far can you go? Fuel tank cap.
« on: July 25, 2011, 04:35:18 PM »
Just to satisfy my curiosity I ran out of gas today on purpose.  I wanted to know how far I could go once the low fuel light came on.  I did 53 miles.
Of course I had stopped this morn and had exactly a 2 gal can of 93 in the trunk.
At the first sign of stutter I pulled safely off the road, dumped in the 2 gal and filled up less than a mile later.  I was able to pump 12.128 in plus the 2 is a shade over 14.  I think the capacity is supposed to be 14.something so in my opinion everything is square with the official amount.
I did average 25.05 for the tank.  So when the low light comes on now, I know I've got 40 miles to fill up - leaves a bit of a cushion.
