Electrical / No speedo / rev gauge / fuel gauge / or temp gauge lights.
« on: November 17, 2008, 06:10:51 AM »
Righto, my temp gauge was flickering so I took out the instrument cluster and gave the brass nut at the back a tighten. I put the cluster back in and now I don't have any lights in the speedo / rev gauge / fuel gauge / or temp gauge.

I have the rest of the lights - indicators, headlights, check panel light, oil, battery etc.

Ashtray bulb is lighting up as are the other lights like the heater controls, window switches etc.

All fuses are ok.

Any ideas as to the problem?

Thanks

Hello Chrisitan,

I'm living in Brisbane. I moved from Ireland to here a few months back and basically I had been looking out for another E30 for myself when this gem popped up. It was originally a UK car, imported by the last owner when he moved here from the Uk 6 years ago. It's been an absolute credit to him with pretty much every receipt in a huge folder.

I'm only on European Car club - do I have to pay a fee to join the Bmw car club or something?

Haven't heard about these nationals? What exactly are they?

Engine + Driveline / Engine rev limit
« on: January 07, 2008, 06:51:22 AM »
Many people over here in Ireland and England use chips from a very reputable company. It raises the rev limit to 7200 rpm and no failures have ever been reported.

Just improved handling yet not too stiff. Something like the powerflex stuff except without the expensive prices! :p

Yes I got Powerflex for my last car but I thought there may be a cheaper and as good quality bush kit somewhere in the US.

I had H&R anti roll bars on my last car too. Very impressed too. What kind of Anti roll bars do ye guys use?

Very nice IS...clean and tasteful. Which wheels are those?

They are Schmidt modern line. 8 x 15 inch. They look very well - when clean! :p
Even though the offset was ET25 they still rubbed slightly on the inside front due to the wider rim, so I tried some spacers. Then realised my wheel bolts were too short so I ended up shaving a couple of mm off the strut and they were perfect after that. :)

It's running Bilstein B8 Shocks (think ye guys in the US call them Sports) and H&R 35mm lowering springs. Thought it would lower it a bit more but the ride was great anyway.

Hey guys

I'm looking for some new shocks and springs for my E30.

Whats the difference between the Bilsteins HD's / Bilstein Sports? Which are better?

Also can anyone recommend a good place to get either?

And finally, does anyone know any site that does uprated bushes for E30's? As in subframe, trailing arm bushes etc.

Thanks!
